Coal India approves record 32 mining projects at Rs 47K cr

Scripting a record high, Coal India Limited (CIL) has approved 32 coal mining projects in the current fiscal till January 2021, which indicate an estimated incremental capital of around Rs 47,300 crore.

MCL's coal washery project yet to get green nod

A green panel has deferred its decision on granting environment clearance to Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL) for setting up of a Rs 334.72 crore coal washery in Odisha and asked it to get forest clearance first, and also sought other inputs.

Odisha plans rail corridor for Rampia coal block

The Odisha government has decided to develop rail corridor facility in the Rampia coal block on the lines of the already planned common rail corridor for the Angul-Talcher-Chhendipada belt. The common rail corridor is proposed to be developed with equity participation from Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) and Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL).

Nalco ties-up with Mahanadi Coalfields for coal supply

To get fuel supply for its captive power plant, National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has signed a long term fuel supply agreement with Mahanadi Coalfield (MCL). As part the pact, MCL will supply 47.16 lakh tonne of coal to NALCO's captive power plant at Angul and 8,73,324 tonne of coal for its steam cum power generation plant, at Damanjodi.

Govt to hire consultant to restructure Coal India

Government is in the process of hiring an external consultant to advise on the restructuring of Coal India (CIL) for a long term sustainability roadmap. The government is learnt to have shortlisted nine consultants for the purpose.
